Privacy Policy
This policy covers the NotebookLM Quiz Exporter for Gemini Notebook Chrome extension and this website. It is maintained by the MyQuizGPT team.
Last updated 9 September 2026 · Applies to extension version 0.8.4 and later
The short version. Most export formats are built inside your own browser and never reach our servers. Two of them — Google Forms and the shareable web page — have to send the quiz you selected to MyQuizGPT in order to work. Nothing is sent until you pick one of those two destinations.
What the extension can access
The extension requests only the permissions it needs to add an export control to a quiz you already have open:
- Scripting — to place the Export button on the quiz canvas and read the quiz you are exporting.
- Storage — to remember your export preferences and cache the current notebook's quiz list while a tab is open.
It runs only on Gemini Notebook and NotebookLM pages (notebooklm.google.com, notebook.google.com and Google's associated content domains) and on myquizgpt.com. It has no access to any other site you visit, and it does not request permission to read your browsing history, tabs or bookmarks.
Where your quiz content goes, by format
This is the part worth reading carefully, because the formats do not all behave the same way.
| Export format | Where it is created | Quiz content sent to us? |
|---|---|---|
| PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Markdown, CSV, JSON, Anki, Quizlet, QTI | In your browser | No |
| Google Forms | On our server, then in your Google Drive | Yes |
| Shareable web page | On our server | Yes |
For the local formats, the extension reads the open quiz, builds the file in the browser and hands it to Chrome's download. The content does not travel to us.
Google Forms and shareable web pages
These two destinations cannot be produced locally, so choosing one sends the quiz you selected — its questions, answer options and correct answers — to MyQuizGPT so the form or page can be created.
- Creating a Google Form requires you to authorise the Google account that will own the form. The form is created in your Drive and stays under your Google account.
- Google processes anything submitted to that form under Google's own terms and privacy policy.
- Only pick these destinations when you actually intend to send the selected quiz.
Account and usage data
The extension contacts MyQuizGPT for two things that do not involve your quiz content: checking whether you are signed in and whether Google Forms is connected, and checking your remaining export quota. These use your existing MyQuizGPT session.
Your plan, billing and subscription are handled by your MyQuizGPT account.
What is stored on your device
- Export preferences — your last-used settings, kept in Chrome's local storage.
- A record of your most recent export — so the extension can show you what it just produced.
- A per-tab cache of the notebook's quiz list — cleared when the browser session ends.
Uninstalling the extension removes this data along with its access to Gemini Notebook pages.
What we do not collect
The extension is not built to collect browsing history, emails, contacts, payment details, or notebook content you have not chosen to export. As a precaution, avoid putting sensitive personal information into material you send through the Google Forms or shareable-page workflows.
